Reluctantly crouched at the starting line
Engines pumping and thumping in time
The green light flashes, the flags go up
Churning and burning they yearn for the cup
They deftly manuver and muscle for rank
Fuels burning fast on an empty tank
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns
Their prowess is potent and secretly stern ~ “The Distance” by Cake
Yes, these fine city worker/athletes are vying for a place in the 2008 Recreation Rodeo State Finals. The winner of today’s events will go on to compete in the regional competition and show their skilz!
Events include: Mower Course, Backpack Blower Course, Backhoe Event, Hammer and Nail Event, Truck and Trailer Event, and Chainsaw Event.
The Backhoe Event requires fine dexterity movements to pour as much water from the paint bucket into the white bucket as possible. The agility and steadiness of a puma on the prowl!
