I had a bad race at Walburg last year, and this year was no exception. My road team came out in full form at the start of the race, when all of a sudden IT happened. Three girls collided right in front of me, I slammed on my breaks, jumped off my bike and tried to clear the girl/bike pile, halfway falling in the process, and then got back on the bike and took Christina back up to the pack that sprinted off. That was my race in a nut shell. Teammate Tracie was also in the crash and caught back on, but I didn’t have anything left. Our team went onto take 2nd for the day and I was just chillin off the back catching a draft off a tractor hauling a round bale. Only in TX!

I walked away unscathed this time, but Christina wasn’t so lucky. The very next day she did a road race AND crashed AND then got 10 stitches a few days later AND raced the next mountain bike race with a pad over the wound just in case she fell on it again. Hard core!

If you’ve gottta mullet, scrub it! It’s nice to have medical care right in the convenience of a dirt parking lot.

We later went onto have a nice dinner in Austin, and had girl time at the bachelor pad.

We showed Fawley that girls and slumber parties aren’t always what they seem to be…sorry hate to disappoint you guys! I did teach him a neat pineapple trick, so ladies watch out for this gentleman’s wining and dining;)
